chords and chord progression

Hey there , here we are going to start learning the chords for the guitar and the chord progression . This is a good way to learn to play the chords so eventually you can start to learn how to play your favourite songs. First we will start with the open chords,here are your first few

e-------0--------
B-------2--------3rd finger
G-------2--------2nd finger try these out ,for the progression play the first
D-------2--------1st finger chord 4 times then the second chord 4 times
A-------0-------- when you are fluent at that try playing the
E-------X-------- chords twice each this will get your fingers
This is the A major chord moving from chord too chord.

B Major
e-------2--------1st finger
B-------4--------4th finger
G-------4--------3rd finger

Hope you all enjoyed the last lick i put on and are starting to feel like your improving on moving around the strings.Heres another lick to keep you going as the next blogs we will be getting on to the chords and chord progression.
e---5--7--8----------------------
B------------5--5--6--8----------
G--------------------------------
D--------------------------------
A--------------------------------
E--------------------------------

This little lick was the first thing that I mastered its simple but sounds really good and it also gets you used to moving your fingers around the frets and playing mulitple strings at the same time.
e:------------------------------------------
B:------------------------------------------
G:---------------------2--------------------
D:------------2---4---------4---2-----------
A:---0---4--------------------------4---0---
E:------------------------------------------
Please note where you see the 0 ,this means that you play the string open.Start by playing slowly and then try to speed it up when you start to find it easy and your not needing to look at the strings or frets when playing

Hope you liked the last blogs here are some more examples of how you can read guitar tab:

e:---------------
B:----2----------
G:---------------
D:---------------
A:---------------
E:---------------

In this example you see the number 2 located on the b string. This is telling you to play this string with your finger on the second fret of the b string, give this a try.

reading guitar tablature

The first thing I was taught was how to read guitar tablature or guitar tab as I like to call it. Guitar tab is in my eyes easier to read than normal music sheets as it tells you what strings to play and what fret on each strings you need to place your finger.

here is an example of this :
e:--------------------------- --> 1st string thinnest, highest sounding
B:--------------------------- --> 2nd string
G:--------------------------- --> 3rd string
D:--------------------------- --> 4th string
A:--------------------------- --> 5th string
E:--------------------------- --> 6th string thickest, lowest sounding

This is an example of your strings on your guitar ,I found it very important to learn the letters of the strings as it help me later,check bk for more blogs and I will show you more examples so you can paly a few simple warmups which gets you reading guitar tab and moving you fingers around the strings.

ARE YOU READY TO ROCK !!!!!!!!

Hi there rockers ,before we start let me introduce myself . I'm Stuart Eccles and I'm a big fan of rock and indie music it has taken me some time for me to get myself a guitar and start to get more enjoyment out of the passion I have for music. What my aim is ,is to share the lessons I learn with all of you novices who are wanting to get involved with your own passion for music. As I am still quite a beginner myself I want to share with you all that I am learning by posting new blogs on a regular basis so that I can teach you all that I have been taught which hopefully will save you time and money so all you have to concentrate on is getting on that guitar and enjoying what you want to to the most. The first few blogs may be gruelling as learning from the star is the hardest thing but keep at it because it wont be long before you are putting that hard work together and playing some nice sounds which like me will give you that sence of achievment as i have had. I will be posting blogs starting from the basics ,from how to read tablature or tab as I like to call it to playing chords and some samples of some popular songs as I have learnt. I am always open for comments ,so if there is anything you want to ask dont hesitate to ask me .My aim is to help you get a good start to your guitar palying and im hoping that the better i get gives you the opportunity to get better too.
